House Extension for Elderly Parents

​​​The extension of the house features a clutter free layout, a simple vertical garden, and a bathroom with grab bars. The layout of the furniture allows free passage, but furniture are not placed so far apart that the elderly can still use them to balance themselves should they need it. A simple, low maintenance vertical garden is intended to facilitate therapeutic gardening. Unlike a traditional horizontal flower bed, a vertical garden is raised and doesn’t require elders to spend large amounts of time bent over on the ground. Grab bars at the bathroom offers additional support to hold on to while sitting down or getting up. Injuries getting on and off the toilet are quite high in people aged 65 and older.
